Eng. Ahmed El-Assar

Eng. Ahmed El Assar, founder of MASAR for Consultancy and Business Development, brings 18 years of leadership experience from ExxonMobil, where he held key commercial and strategic roles. A chemical engineering graduate from Alexandria University with an MBA from AAST, and graduated from the Advanced Leadership Program from the National Training Academy. He is also a TV host on TeN Channel, a columnist, and the founder of a prominent cultural salon. With deep industry insights and an extensive network, Ahmed is positioned to connect businesses with the right opportunities and decision-makers. A columnist at Al-Ahram and Akhbar Al-Youm newspapers, the founder of El-Assar Cultural Salon, Industry Committee Chair at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Egypt, and the Vice Chairman at Lieutenant General Mohamed El-Assar foundation for sustainable development .

Eng. Ali Ehsan Bakr

An international energy industry expert with over 33 years of experience in oil and gas, marketing, and retail, working with major global corporations such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, and OLA Energy.

He has held senior executive leadership positions, including Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Cyprus, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Egypt, Global Sales Manager for Aviation Lubricants at corporate headquarters in Houston, Managing Director of Retail at Chevron Al-Bakry in Saudi Arabia, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of OLA Energy Group in Dubai.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Benha University (1992) and an MBA from the University of Sunderland, UK (2008). He currently works as an independent advisor in the oil and gas sector.

Dr. Noha Bakr

Dr. Noha Bakr

Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and an expert in international affairs and diplomacy. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and Organizations from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University and a Diploma in War Studies from Cornell University. She served as Assistant Minister of International Cooperation and Head of the Americas Sector from 2010 to 2015. She is a member of the National Council for Human Rights and the Supreme Council for Culture, and has represented Egypt in distinguished international forums, including the NATO Defense College and the International Institute of Humanitarian Law in Sanremo. She serves on the advisory boards of several international institutions, including the African Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the World Bank. She is a recipient of Distinguished Alumna Awards from both AUC and the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., as well as Amwal Al Ghad magazine’s annual Top 50 Women Award.

Dr. Bakr has also held senior executive positions in multinational corporations, serving as Head of Communications and Government Relations at Lafarge and later LafargeHolcim. In this role, she formulated and executed comprehensive brand and reputation strategies, served as the primary media contact, and briefed and trained senior executives for public engagement. She also developed and implemented CSR programs, managed all internal and external events, and oversaw the team responsible for media relations, community engagement, and government liaison.

Additionally, she served as Executive Director of the Cement Division at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, where she was tasked with establishing the division’s strategy and policies, preparing policy briefs and forecasts, and acting as the official sector spokesperson. In this capacity, she managed governmental and legislative relations, ensured compliance with Egyptian competition laws and anti-trust regulations, and built the industry’s narrative across media, social platforms, and international conferences, significantly elevating the national profile of the cement industry.

Dr. Samir Morcos

Dr. Samir Morcos

An Egyptian thinker and author of numerous landmark publications. He is the recipient of the Norwegian Academy of Literature and Freedom of Expression Award—named after the first Norwegian and third global Nobel Laureate in Literature (1903)—and was awarded the Academy’s Diploma for his collective body of work. Between 2011 and 2020, he held several public offices at the ministerial level. A seasoned international development expert since 1986, he has worked with various global, regional, and national institutions, specializing in project evaluation and authoring numerous training manuals and assessment documents.

He has held key public positions, serving as Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Northern Region (August 2011 – August 2012) at the rank of Deputy Minister, Assistant to the President of the Republic for Democratic Transition and Citizenship (2012) at the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, Supervisor of the National Organization for Urban Harmony (July 2014 – January 2016), and Advisor to the Ministry of Culture (2016 – 2020).

Active in public life, Dr. Morcos served as a member of the National Council for Human Rights across two terms (post-January 25 and post-June 30) and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue. He has participated in examining several doctoral and master’s dissertations and has been a weekly columnist for Al-Ahram since 2007 and Al-Masry Al-Youm since 2004.

His honors include the Tolerance Award from the Arab Network for Tolerance (2013). That same year, he was honored by Stanford University and invited to deliver the opening address alongside the late Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi at its conference on the Arab Spring held in Tunisia.
